1. Overview

Parking Guard is designed around local evidence storage. The app records parked-car evidence clips and still frames on your device when motion, sound, or impact is detected. Internet access is only needed for optional Google Drive backup, optional Gmail alerts, website access, and App Store purchase services.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Parking Guard processes, where it is stored, and the choices you have.

2. Operator and Contact

Parking Guard is provided by ICHITAP. For privacy questions, deletion requests, or legal requests, contact us at support@parkingguard.app.

3. Information We Process

Information Purpose Where it is stored or sent
Camera frames, video clips, and still images To monitor the parked vehicle, detect motion, and preserve evidence around a trigger. Stored locally on your device. Sent to your own Google Drive only if you enable Drive backup. A still image may be attached to your own Gmail alert only if you enable Gmail alerts.
Microphone audio levels and audio in clips To detect loud or relevant sounds and record audio as part of an evidence clip. Processed and stored locally unless optional Drive backup or Gmail alerts are enabled.
Motion sensor data To detect impact, vibration, or contact with the vehicle. Processed on the device. Event metadata may note that an impact event occurred.
Event metadata To show event type, date, duration, trigger details, upload status, and related app settings. Stored locally. Included in optional Drive backup when enabled.
Google account information and authorization To let you link Google Drive, show the linked account, check Drive storage quota, upload files, and send Gmail alerts from your linked account. Handled through Google Sign-In and Google APIs. The app requests limited scopes such as Drive file access, Drive metadata read-only access, and Gmail send permission when needed.
Gmail alert content To send an email alert to the linked Gmail account when an event is finalized. Sent through the Gmail API from your linked Gmail account to that same account. The email may include event type, time, and a JPEG still image.
Photos library access To save selected evidence images or videos to the Photos app when you request it. Written to your device Photos library through iOS permissions.
Subscription and purchase status To process purchases, trials, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and feature access if subscriptions are offered. Processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
App settings and local diagnostic information To remember language, detection settings, backup status, notification limits, and app behavior. Stored locally on your device unless you choose to send information to support.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not store your evidence videos on a developer-operated evidence server.
  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising.
  • We do not request location permission in the current iOS release.
  • We do not intentionally collect contacts, health data, or precise location data.

5. Google API Data

Google Drive backup and Gmail alerts are optional. If you choose to use them, Parking Guard uses Google API data only to provide or improve the user-facing features you enabled: linking your account, backing up your Parking Guard files to your own Drive, checking Drive quota, avoiding duplicate uploads, and sending Gmail alerts.

Parking Guard does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell Google user data, and does not transfer Google user data to data brokers. Human access to Google user data is limited to cases where you ask us for support, security investigation, legal compliance, or where you explicitly consent.

6. Third-Party Services

Parking Guard may interact with these third-party services when you use the relevant feature:

  • Apple: App Store distribution, in-app purchase or subscription processing, iOS permissions, and Photos library save actions.
  • Google: Google Sign-In, Google Drive API, Gmail API, and related authentication services for optional backup and email alerts.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, or with your consent. Optional Drive backups are stored in your Google Drive account, and Gmail alerts are stored in your Gmail account according to your Google settings.

7. Retention

  • Local event clips, still images, and metadata remain on your device until you delete them, delete the app, or the app removes old events when device free space falls below its storage threshold.
  • Google Drive backup files remain in your Google Drive until you delete them or revoke access through Google.
  • Gmail alert emails remain in your Gmail account until you delete them.
  • App settings remain on your device until you reset them, sign out, delete the app, or the operating system removes them.
  • Support emails are retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep security records, and comply with legal obligations.

8. Your Choices

  • You can deny camera, microphone, notification, or Photos permissions in iOS settings, although some features may not work without the relevant permission.
  • You can delete events inside the app.
  • You can unlink Google Drive in the app settings, disable Gmail alerts, or revoke access from your Google Account settings.
  • You can delete backed-up files from Google Drive and alert emails from Gmail.
  • You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
  • You can contact us at support@parkingguard.app for privacy questions or requests.

9. Security

Parking Guard uses the operating system sandbox, local device storage, iOS permission prompts, and HTTPS connections used by Apple and Google services. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so you should protect your device with a passcode and keep your Apple and Google accounts secure.

10. Children

Parking Guard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, laws, or third-party services change. If a material change affects how we use personal information, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
